About Us

Exterior view of the Elks Lodge building at night.

Elks Lodge 489 has been part of Globe, Arizona since the early twentieth century, and the building on East Maple Street carries that history in every corner. Members have gathered here through copper booms and quiet decades, through celebrations and solemn farewells alike. A recent memorial service drew nearly eighty people and filled the hall comfortably, which says something real about the space and the people who maintain it.

The lodge hosts everything from craft fairs to blood drives in partnership with the American Red Cross. Those events sometimes run on volunteer muscle alone, and the community shows up anyway. That scrappy, roll-up-your-sleeves spirit is as authentic as it gets in a town like Globe.

If you are curious about membership or need a venue for an event that deserves a dignified, well-sized room, Lodge 489 is worth a phone call or a drive up Maple Street. The door has been open for generations, and it is open now.

What We Offer

Lodge 489 serves members and the broader Globe community in several distinct ways. The main hall accommodates gatherings of up to eighty guests, making it a practical choice for memorials, celebrations, and civic meetings that need real square footage without a hotel price tag.

Community programming is a consistent thread here. Craft fairs, charity fundraisers, and health events like Red Cross blood drives rotate through the calendar, giving local vendors, artists, and donors a reliable home base. Membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks also connects Globe residents to a national network of veterans programs, scholarship funds, and youth initiatives.

For prospective members or event organizers, the best first step is reaching out through the national Elks directory at Lodge 489's contact page. The lodge runs on volunteers, so response times vary, but the commitment to the community does not.

"Was a vendor at this ELKs Lodge for a Craft Fair. It was a little crowded and a little unorganized but the person that was doing everything got thrown into it just the day before and did an excellent job. Apparently this was Officially the first ever done here. Was a good day. Hope next time a little more advertising is done because attendance was small. Many people said they didn't know anything about until the day of."

"Was a solemn occasion. Went for a dear friends sons memorial. Good size venue and was capable of holding 80 people comfortably."

"What a shame and I don't know if the Elks Club in Globe, Arizona knows what questions the American Red Cross is asking individuals who take the time out of their day to give blood. I drove an hour away to donate blood at Elks Lodge only to be asked on a verbal questionnaire when I sat down, what my Gender is? It's an insult to my "Manhood" to even reply to that Woke question. And why would it matter what race you are? We all bleed the same Red Blood! This WOKE Ideology has gone to far and if the Elks Club condones this behavior then they are no better! I don't know anything about the Elks Club except I went to a Thanksgiving Dinner held for the public and veterans like myself at the Payson's Elk Lodge and it was a beautiful thing they did. I really hope the Elks Club reconsiders letting this Woke Red Cross back in their doors? Unacceptable..."

"Enjoyed a great fish and shrimp dinner. The price was reasonable for the amount of food served with the proceeds going to the benefit of Lilly for a liver transplant. The place was clean and nicely decorated for the fall season. I would go there again."

"We stopped by the Globe Elks Lodge for a couple of nights of dry camping in our RV. Our only disappointment was that the lodge was not open on those nights so we did not get a chance to meet many of the members. We did however get to meet the ER and the secretary and found them to be very nice people. They were both very welcoming of travelling elks in really made us feel at home. We will be coming back some night when the lodge is open."
